Avalon motorcycle tours

We are not one of those operators that are here today and gone tomorrow. Our first Grand tour “took off" in 1999. Since then we have constantly improved the quality and added new tours. Now our tour program includes five itineraries.  suitable for the clients who prefer shorter motorcycle touring holidays.
  • Our three 14-day guided tours of Thailand take you to three distinct areas of this country, each with its individual charm and interest. We have also added a shorter tour along the Eastern Seaboard's coastline, tropical rainforests and Angkor Wat
  • Our clients say that touring with us is like travelling with a group of friends. And this is the way we would like to keep it. We stick to the motto "quality not quantity". Most clients prefer worry free ride by following the leader. That is why a group of up to seven motorcycles - ten people works out perfectly. It is easy to keep a visual control, the whole group can eat together at one big table and conversations can be held without anyone being left out. All our customers said that tours exceeded all their expectations and the quality can be vouched by taking references by anyone of them.
  • We even had owners of other motorcycle touring companies on our tours; and some came twice.

Why clients tour with us

  • Most organised motorcycle tours in Thailand encompass only a 100 to 200 km radius area around major tourist centres like Chiang Mai or Phuket. As you can see from our maps, we ride through "real Thailand", away from tourist hoards, through areas usually not seen by many. Although the total of kilometres might seem high, we keep daily distances easily manageable because of good secondary roads we use.
  • Knowing that everyone needs some comfort after a day in the saddle we use quality hotel accommodation with American breakfast, even in places not frequented by foreign tourists. Beside swimming pool hotels offer 24 hours room service, laundry, massage etc.
  • Having a good knowledge about the places we eat and drink well. We do not want to keep you on stir fried rice throughout your holiday, so lunch and dinner are not included - this way you have a freedom to enjoy a variety of  inexpensive Thai or foreign dishes of your choice.
  • Since our tours start near Bangkok airport there are no connecting flights involved, thus cutting down expenses and risk of missing the tour because of  flight delays.
  • Our light and responsive motorcycles don't freak out older or less experienced riders particularly in situations where due to road construction or weather conditions we have to ride on dirt road, on mud or across flooded lands. Cheap petrol and low fuel consumption are also a bonus. In two weeks (3000 km) we only spend around GBP 50 on petrol. And finally - our motorcycling holidays are tours not the TT races.

Riders safety

Our tour leader will never endanger safety of other group members and will adjust touring speed according to road conditions and riders' capabilities thus ensuring a stress free ride. Choice of riding speed is very important when touring in third world countries. Although there is not much normal traffic on the roads, we very often come across the elements not familiar to us from Europe. Life in rural areas runs at a slow pace. There are hardly any cars on the roads and people who are not used to fast traffic will often decide to cross when we are only meters away. Scooter riders, cyclists, tractors, rotor cultivators etc. never stop when coming from side road. Animals like cows, dogs and pigs running free are also a hazard. We are proud of our track record - twelve years of touring, hundreds of clients and only one broken arm and leg.

The country

It is easy to fall in love with SE Asia once you have met her people; experienced the colour and excitement, the heat and vitality, the sounds and smells of a region that is second to none. The overriding impression is one of timelessness, of traditions unchanged through centuries, of a harmonious place. Old sits serenely by new, simple enhances elaborate, and an innate gracefulness touches all facets of life. The former Siam is the present ‘land of smiles’, where the locals are charming and visitors are charmed… again and again...If you love riding motorcycle, join our tour and you will not just see South East Asia, you will live it!.
